L’Allianz des nageurs — The Swimmers’ Allianz
Campagnes d’influence
In France, nearly 50% of young people can’t swim when they start secondary school, and this statistic is even more pronounced in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis. This has led Allianz France to launch “L’Allianz des Nageurs” (The Swimmers’ Allianz) with Michou to raise awareness about learning to swim with six of its subscribers
Context
Learning to swim means learning to save lives: your own, those of your loved ones, or random strangers. However, social inequalities and a lack of swimming pools still hinder access to this life skill. In France, one child in two starts secondary school without knowing how to swim, a figure that is even more alarming in Seine-Saint-Denis (93), where six out of ten children have not mastered this essential ability. As a result, drowning remains the leading cause of accidental death among those under 25.
In response to this situation, Allianz France has launched “L’Allianz des Nageurs” in collaboration with Michou, an initiative aimed at democratizing swimming lessons and offering young people in difficulty the means to acquire this vital skill. Beyond safety, knowing how to swim is a real lever for equal opportunities and well-being. With this project, Allianz France is reaffirming its commitment to a responsible approach, in line with its CSR objectives and sporting values. This initiative is fully in line with the spirit of the Paris 2024 Legacy Program, which aims to leave a lasting social and environmental impact well beyond the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Response
Through an immersive video, we followed six young people who took up the challenge of learning to swim in just ten days. Supervised by the Raincy Swimming Association (93) and coached by Alexis Forait, they were able to learn the basics of swimming in a supportive and motivating environment. This unique experience concluded with the presentation of official certificates and a memorable competition, in which Michou and Domingo each led a team.
To take things further, Allianz France demonstrated its commitment by donating €15,000 to the association, enabling it to fund 2,500 swimming lessons. This initiative offers many young people the opportunity to learn to swim and feel safer in the water.
